For this painting I tried a different tactic. I started with a minimal illustration style painting for inspiration.

  1. It’s much easier to paint when you don’t need to separate the primary subject matter from the background
  2. This simple approach was more fun than struggling with blending.
  3. The point of painting is to get better so I won’t revisit this style too often. I need to continue to challenge myself with more difficult paintings.
